Why Take Music Lessons ?

Because learning an instrument makes you smarter, stronger, and more coordinated. Your muscles get get stronger and quicker. Your brain grows (yes, literally, grows!) The connections between the different parts of your growing brain, along with the nerves connected to your muscles, become higher capacity — literally able to carry more electricity at a higher rate. Kids learn how to stick to a practice routine, to deliver on their commitments, and to perform in front of an audience.  Not to mention, Everyone learns how to play the music They’ve always wanted play, and to play it better and better.

Why take lessons with you?

I have had fantastic teachers throughout my career, and so have direct experience of the best teaching practices that exist.  My combined skills as a pianist and guitarist allow me to demonstrate on either instrument; sometimes that’s very useful when illustrating certain aspects of harmony and musical pattern. I’m gentle, empathic, and clear, which means my students feel safe, cared for, and accountable.

What do you teach?

I teach guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, choral conducting, music theory, voice, and composition.

What’s your experience?

I’ve performed professionally for more than 50 years.  I became a full time teacher in 2007 after a successful career in business.

Describe a typical teaching program
